15 February 2011 - We welcome a 2 month old Baby girl, Lulu*, to our family at iThemba House. Lulu* will be staying with us until a suitable adoptive family is found for her.

14 February 2011 - A healthy one week old Baby girl, Loyisa*, has come to stay with us at iThemba House. Welcome Loyiso*!!!!

5 January 2011 - Little Sopho* is leaving iThemba House today to be reunited with his biological mother. We wish him well for his future!

4 January 2011 - We welcome tiny Kya* to our safe home. This little baby girl was born in the early hours of this morning, and will definitely fill our house with much excitement!

12 October 2010 - Today we say good bye to Thebo* and Zola*. We wish them lots of happiness in their new foster home.

5 October 2010 - Kisi*, our beautiful little baby girl, is leaving us this week to go and live with her biological family. This little girl has developed from a very undernourished, fragile little 5 month old baby to a bouncy and happy one year old girl. We will miss her dearly!! Lots of Love, and good luck with everything, Kisi*.

1 October 2010 - Mezo* left iThemba House today to go and live with his new adoptive parents. We will miss his beautiful face and loving nature, but wish him all the happiness and love in the world with his new family!

1 October 2010 - Sopho*, a tiny newborn infant boy, has come to stay with us at iThemba House. Welcome!

10 September 2010 - Sam* has left iThemba House. After his long stay with us, we have all grown to love him dearly, and are very sad to have to say goodbye. But we wish him all the best for his future!

9 July 2010 - Thebo*, a one year old boy, joined our iThemba House family today. He is just learning to walk, loves to cuddle and is full of smiles. Welcome, Thebo*!

9 June 2010 - Two little infant boys, Mezo* and Tiny* have come to stay with us at iThemba House. Mezo* is only 15 days old, and Tiny* just 8 days old, and they will both be staying with us until suitable adoptive families can be found for them. Welcome to both of you beautiful boys!

6 June 2010 - Lavela* has left iThemba House to live with his biological family. This is wonderful news, and we wish Lavela* lots of happiness and love in his future!

31 May 2010 - Elam* has found a new foster home. He is joining a family with other kids, and we hope that he finds great happiness and a sense of belonging there. Elam*, we will miss you!

24 May 2010 - Zola*, a little 3 year old girl has come to stay with us at iThemba House.

13 May 2010 - We are now recycling all our waste products, kindly organised by Claire and Steve Rose.

22 April 2010 - Kisi*, a bouncy 5 month old baby girl, has joined our family today. We can’t wait to cuddle and play with her!!!!

5 April 2010 - Thandi* and Sipho* have left iThemba House to go and live with their family up country. They have been with us for 3 months, and have crept into our hearts with their laughter, hugs and smiles. We will miss them very, very much!

30 March 2010 - Though her stay with us was short, we will miss Nandi* after she leaves us today to go and live with her biological family.

21 March 2010 - Nandi*, a bouncy 6 month old baby girl, has joined the family of iThemba House.

17 March 2010 - Nomsa* has left iThemba House to go and live with her biological mother. We wish her all the best for her future!!!

25 February 2010 - The sad news is that Sihle* left iThemba House today, but the very happy news is that he has found a new home with a loving foster family, where he will hopefully find happiness and love. We will miss you, your energy and your naughty smile, Sihle*!

10 February 2010 - A newborn baby boy, Sam*, arrived at our home today. He will be a cuddly part of our big family until he is placed with his new adoptive family.

2 February 2010 - We can now offer our children regular drama workshops at iThemba House! A qualified drama teacher will be introducing the kids to basic drama skills once a month, which will help them with their self confidence and communication skills.

23 January 2010 - We are very excited to have signed up a registered Play Therapist who will be assisting Yvonne with the counselling of our children through play techniques. Lisa will be with the kids once a week for individual sessions.

20 January 2010 - Welcome to Lavela*, an adorable 6 month old baby boy. His baby gurgles and soft smile will brighten up iThemba House even more!

18 January 2010 - Nomsa*, a cute little 3 year old, has joined our family!

11 January 2010 - Welcome to Sihle*, an energetic 5 year old, and Elam*, a sensitive and quiet little 2 year old!

4 January 2010 - Thandi* and Sipho* arrived at iThemba House today. We hope that these two siblings will feel safe and happy in our home!

17 December 2009 - Little Themba* has been reunited with his biological mother, and has left iThemba House. Though we are sad to say goodbye to this beautiful boy, we are extremely happy about the happy ending to his stay with us.

9 December 2009 - Little Themba* has arrived at iThemba House. He is a lively 6 month old and will be great new company for Siya*.

1 December 2009 - Today our first little special guest arrived at iThemba House. Siya* is a healthy 11 month old toddler, who immediately took to his new surroundings and was happy to play and cuddle with our house mother and the volunteers. Welcome to you, Siya*!!!

28 November 2009 - Today our first dedicated volunteers signed up for the coming months. Thank you to all of you.

24 November 2009 - A Work Party was held today. Everybody worked very hard to finish off any last minute maintenance before we open our doors to the children next week. Gutters were cleaned, electrical cables tidied up, pictures hung, trees cut, etc. Thank you very, very much to all the fantastic members of a hiking club in Hout Bay who organised this day and gave of their time so generously!

November 2009 - Some of our first volunteers are participating in First Aid Courses for child emergencies. Thank you to all of you for your dedication!

November 2009 - Our staff are all being trained in First Aid at the Medical Education Centre, so that they can deal with any injury or emergency, should it occur.

November 2009 - iThemba House has opened a Bank Account.

November 2009 - Our house mother is doing a course for Foster Mothering, to educate her further and give her more skills to nurture our children at iThemba House.

November 2009 - We have managed to find and employ the most wonderful lady, Miranda, to be the House Mother at iThemba House.

November 2009 - Many volunteers have signed up to help us at iThemba House. Thank you to all of you who are willing to give of your time to spend time with our children at iThemba House.

November 2009 - Bruce Davidson has made bunk beds, especially designed for small children. Thank you so much, Bruce!

October 2009 - We are having meetings with SARS, Child Welfare, Banks, other Safe Houses, etc to get all our information and paperwork in order.

October 2009 - We have received many, many wonderful donations such as toys, clothing, furniture and a fridge. We have also received a stove, and many bricks for paving the courtyard. Thank you so much to everyone!

October 2009 - Johnson, our Jack-of-all-trades, has moved into the House and is helping renovate. His painting skills are wonderful, and the house has already started transforming into a warm and inviting home.

5 October 2009 - iThemba House is registered as a Trust.

1 October 2009 - We have finally received the House keys for the Safe House, and can start beginning the process of renovating the house!!!! Lots of work and TLC required!
