The Yellow Bed

1.      At just one month of age, Daphne* was removed from her biological parents by Child Welfare as a result of abuse and neglect in her home environment. She is now able to sleep peacefully, with a full tummy, in our Yellow bed at iThemba House.

Unfortunately this little baby girl has been exposed to the HIV Virus, yet with our care at the Safe House, as well as the administration of suitable medicine, we hope to enable Daphne* to develop and improve her health very quickly. Dapnhe* will be staying at iThemba House until a suitable adoptive family is found for her. We welcome you, little pumpkin!

2.      Our yellow bed now has the tiniest little baby girl dreaming in it. Kya* was born in the early hours of the 4th January 2011, but since her mother left her, she has no place of safety or warm blanket to cuddle into. Unfortunately Kya* has been exposed to the HIV virus, but with our love and the help of medication, we hope to help this beautiful baby girl to develop and grow in strength every day. We welcome you, Kya*, and look forward to many cuddles and love with you! Kya* will be with us until a suitable adoptive family is found for her.

3.     Our yellow bed was blessed to have Sam*, a tiny, adorable new born baby, come to dream in it. Sam* is a very hungry baby boy, who keeps our house mother, up many nights. Yet his tiny hands and cuddly body make up for the sleepless hours! In the past two months Sam* has grown and developed well. He will be staying at iThemba House until a suitable adoptive family can be found for him.

* Names have been changed to protect the confidentiality of the children.
